Yami edging out Anushka to star opposite Hrithik

This one has come as quite a surprise. Yami Gautam (who is the home-breaker of Pulkit Samrat and Shweta Rohira) has emerged the front runner in the race for the leading lady of Hrithik Roshan’s home production. Earlier in the day, we told you how Anushka Sharma was approached for the Sanjay Gupta film (Anushka to star opposite Hrithik in Rakesh Roshan’s next?, January 5). But dates seem to have played spoilsport.
Hrithik is certain that he wants to wrap up the home production in the next 2 months. Post that, his calendar is choc-o-block with Yash Raj Films’ Thug to be directed by Viktor Acharya.
Now, this posed a problem for Anushka, who has Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and her home production lined up. So in came Yami.
Agreed, the Vicky Donor actress was nowhere on the radar in the last few days. But given her largely free calendar, Yami now has an edge over the NH10 actress.
So after all the musical chairs around the female lead – read Kareena Kapoor (Kareena doesn’t want to play blind lover to blind Hrithik, December 6) Parineeti Chopra (Parineeti says no to Hrithik, December 30) and Anushka, looks like it is going to be Yami. In all probability, the actress will sign the film in a day or two.
